Doral Emergency Rental Assistance Program

The Emergency Rental Assistance Program aims to provide much-needed financial support to low and moderate-income households in Miami-Dade County who have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. By offering a one-time benefit to assist with one month’s rent, the program aims to alleviate the burden on families facing financial hardship. To qualify for this assistance, households must meet certain criteria, including earning no more than 80% of the County Area Median Income, having a current lease signed by a landlord in Miami-Dade County, and not receiving assistance from other rental programs. Additionally, applicants must provide documentation demonstrating the impact of COVID-19 on their finances. While paper applications are available, it is recommended to apply online. The application period for ERAP will be open from July 14 to July 17, and completed applications can be returned at designated locations. This program serves as a lifeline for many families, offering them the support they need to maintain stable housing during these challenging times.

To qualify, your household must:

  • Earn no more than 80% of the County Area Median Income (AMI)
  • Have a current lease signed by the landlord in Miami-Dade County
  • Not be a recipient of other rental assistance programs such as Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher, Public Housing, Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH), Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG).
  • Have documentation showing that COVID-19 has created a financial hardship and lowered the household income
