Miami-Dade County Home program

The HOME Program, administered by Miami-Dade County government, aims to provide affordable housing for low- and very-low income individuals. It also helps strengthen the abilities of state and local governments to design and implement affordable housing strategies. The program provides financial and technical assistance to participating jurisdictions and aims to expand and strengthen partnerships among all levels of government and private sector.

The HOME Construction Financing is available through an annual Action Plan process, and for-profit and non-profit developers are eligible for the financing using HOME funds in the form of loans to approved projects. Eligible applicants for HOME funds include CHDOs, not-for-profit organizations, private for-profit organizations, and CLTs. CHDOs must be certified by PHCD before funds are awarded.

The Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) Funding provides housing assistance for renters with special needs, which may include the chronic homeless, elderly, disabled residents, or children aging out of foster care. TBRA funding also provides short and medium-term rental housing assistance for those at risk of becoming homeless or threatened with economic displacement.
